Control Objectives: Activities and control objectives pertaining to data security, system availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy are commonly included in SOC 1 reports.

Independent Audit: A certified third-party auditor conducts an independent audit as part of the SOC 1 certification in  procedure. The auditor assesses the implemented controls and submits a report outlining their conclusions.

Application to Service Organizations: In order to reassure their clientele about the security and dependability of their offerings, service organizations including data centers, cloud service providers, and IT outsourcing companies frequently work toward SOC 1 accreditation.

Global Relevance: Although SOC 1 was developed in the United States, it is acknowledged worldwide and can be adopted by companies anywhere, including Cameroon, particularly if those companies offer services to clients who must comply with U.S. regulatory standards.

Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: In order to keep certification, companies must continuously monitor and improve their controls. SOC 1 compliance is not a one-time activity.
